ABSTRACT
The phenomenon of violence against children is a very concerning thing, seen
from cases of violence against children that increase every year in Indonesia,
violence that occurs including physical, psychological, sexual, and economic
violence that has an impact on children's mental health. There needs to be a
special treatment to see how many victims of child abuse cases in various regions.
In Riau itself, the rate of cases of violence from 2012 - 2020 amounted to 1225
cases and the city of Pekanbaru is the highest contributory area of violence cases
with a total of 713 cases, the number of which explains that the city of Pekanbaru
is the city with the largest level of violence in Riau province. Cases of violence
that occur are dominated by sexual violence and crimes against children, it
proves the low awareness of the community and the need for treatment, especially
for victims of violence, namely children, because the mental health of children is
very influential on optimizing their development, especially children victims of
physical and psychological violence need appropriate facilities and treatment.
This is the basis for creating a Children's Mental Health Center as a place that
can accommodate and serve the needs of mental health in which there are
counseling, sharing and relaxation facilities, and other supporting facilities. This
Children's Mental Health Center uses a Healing Environment Approach which
emphasizes the principles of healing as the application of design, not only
physically in terms of non-physical also affect each other by creating an
atmosphere of adjustment of design elements that provide positive stimuli for the
five senses to create a conducive environment in the healing process.
