ABSTRACT
Human life today is closely related to art and culture. Especially theater
arts which present performances that contain dialogue, acting, dance, and
singing performed by the players on stage. Supporting and educational
facilities that focus on the talents and interests of the younger generation,
especially in the field of theater, are currently very little attention. This has
resulted in decreased activity in some existing communities or theater
studios. Lack of adequate facilities for education and theater performance
is one of the reasons for planning and designing the Theater Art Center in
Rengat. Rengat is a city rich in customs and theater arts, this can be seen
from the frequent theater performances in several buildings. Coupled with
the number of established theater communities or studios in the area.
Theater Art Center is a forum for theater arts activities that functions as a
space for education and performance, so that it can support the interests
and talents of the community in performing theater arts. The Expressionist
theme will apply the characteristics and values of expressionism into the
design. The theme will be applied to the site, facade and space in the
building.
