Arsitektur Feminisme Pada Women’s Empowerment Center Di Medan

ABSTRACT
Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, North Sumatra ranked 4th the
highest number of population in Indonesia, that is 14.262.100 soul of 51.9% of them
are women. Meanwhile, this province is also ranked 7th the highest figures of
violence against women based on temporary provincial data CATAHU 2020 that
recorded by Komnas Perempuan. In addition there are still many responses skewed
to women who work is considered to be less responsible in the role of the domestic.
Whereas the development of women's potential can help the welfare of the family
while enhancing their independence. To support the government's efforts in dealing
with this case, one of which required the Women's Empowerment Center as a place
to develop the potential for every women of productive age and legal services, care
and psychosocial support to women victims of violence so that they are ready to
return and lead his role in the life of the wider community. By using descriptive
qualitative research methods as well as various literature sources as a secondary
method, the design of the Women's Empowerment Center will use the approach to
the Architectural theme of Feminism which is basically the design of an object by
adopting the nature of women and the power behind the side of the softness of
woman, may be able to communicate the object of design as a means of protection
and the empowerment of women that is safe and comfortable.
