ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in February 2021 in the Mangrove Tourism Area of Sungai Bersejarah, Kayu Ara Permai Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to determine the amount of production and decomposition rate of mangrove litter, to determine differences in litter production and decomposition rates between transects, and to determine the relationship between Rhizophora sp. mangrove litter production and density in the Historic River Mangrove Tourism Area, Kayu Ara Permai Village. The method used in this research is a survey method and the determination of the sampling location by purposive sampling. The water quality measured in this study were temperatures ranging from 28-30 °C, salinity 30-31‰, and pH 6,1-6,4. Based on the results of the study, the average litter production ranged from 3,06-5,26 tons/ha/year, the average value of the decomposition rate ranged from 0,25-0,11 g/day.
