Kajian Taksonomi Jenis-Jenis Pohon Dari Famili Fabaceae Di Universitas Riau Berdasarkan Karakteristik Stomata
ABSTRACT
The characteristic of stomata plays pivotal role in taxonomic studies of higher plant group, including Fabaceae members. The species of this family are grown in University of Riau area as cover crops. Stomatal study of Fabaceae species in this area have never been reported. This study aims to characterize stomata of Fabaceae species from University of Riau area. Specimens were collected from the field using exploration method. The stomatal preparation had been conducted using replica (mold) and paradermal method. The specimens were then observed and photographed using a Celestron 44340 LCD Digital Microscope. Stomatal characterizations were described, scored, and analyzed using Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate Analysis System (NTSYSpc) 2.02i program. A total of 10 Fabaceae species belong to three subfamilies were identified in this study. Two stomatal types were observed, i.e parasitic (Acacia auriculiformis, Adenanthera pavonina, Albizia saman, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Senna siamea, Erythrina variegata, and Pterocarpus indicus) and anomocytics (Albizia chinensis, Leucaena leucocephala, and Delonix regia). The position of stomata foun in this study were hipostomatic and amphistomatic. The cluster analysis using 23 stomatal characters produced a dendrogram with two main groups (I and II) with a similarity coeficient range from 0,00 to 0,95. The Fabaceae species examined in this study were mainly clustered based on character of the presence adaxial stomata.
