Peran Ecpat (End Child Prostitution In Asia Tourism) Dalam Menangani Masalah Eksploitasi Seksual Komersial Anak Di Sri Lanka 2016
Sri Lanka Tourism has an increase in tourist visits from various countries
annually. This could be a threat to children in Sri Lanka from sexual exploitation
in which the perpetrators were foreign tourists that visit to have sexual relations
with children. There were various ways used by the perpetrator to gain the
victim's trust, such as providing the basic needs of children, as well as living with
the family to gain families trust, which were the opening for sexual harassment.
This study aims to describe the role of ECPAT Sri Lanka in assisting the Sri
Lankan government in addressing child sexual tourism in Sri Lanka.
In this research, the writer uses International Organization Theory and
uses the pluralism perspective. In this study, the authors used qualitative and
descriptive methods by using the technique of connecting theory with data
obtained from library research and data from various sources such as journals,
research reports, and data from sources such as text books, newspapers, and
mass media whose credibility can be trusted.
The role of ECPAT Sri Lanka was limited in 2016 but it is possible that the
authors also researched in previous years. Child sex tourism is experiencing
rapid development so it needs cooperation from various parties, one of which is
ECPAT Sri Lanka. ECPAT runs a program in collaboration with the UK and
Japan as major donors to combat the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of
Children in Sri Lanka and provides food and medical assistance. As well as
meeting the needs of victims of Exploitation in Sri Lanka.
