“Dampak Kebijakan Employment Permit System (Eps) Korea Selatan Pada Pekerja Migran Indonesia Terhadap Perekenomian Indonesia Tahun 2014-2018”

This research explains the impact of South Korea's Employment Permit
System (EPS) policy on Indonesian Migrant Workers on Indonesian Economy. The
high rate of population growth in Indonesia has an impact on unemployment,
poverty, migration and other population problems. An alternative to solving the
problem is to send Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) abroad. Thus, a cooperation
agreement was made with South Korea through a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with the aim of reducing unemployment, poverty and providing employment
opportunities for low-skilled workers.
This research uses the perspective of liberalism with the level of analysis of the state
analysis and is supported by the theory of interdependence. This research is
qualitative explanative research, where the research data is obtained through library
studies. This research is focused on the impact of EPS policy on PMI on the
Indonesian economy.
The results of this study stated that through cooperation through the EPS system,
PMI transfers are structured and organized, it had an impact with remittances that
entered Indonesia and gradually increased since the signing of this agreement in
2004. Transferring money to the family in the hometown greatly helps the economy
and family situation, the fulfillment of needs can be fulfilled thanks to the money sent
by PMI to the hometown.
