Strategi Pemerintah Indonesia Dalam Mempromosikan Pariwisata Ke Filipina
The study explains the Indonesian government's tourism promotion
strategy in the Philippines. Tourism serves to meet the physical, spiritual, and
intellectual needs of every tourist. In addition, tourism also aims to strengthen the
relationship between nations and increase state revenues. Indonesia is one of the
countries that vigorously promotes the tourism sector because it has a varied
nature, culture, ethnicity, customs, and languages.
This study uses a globalist perspective. With this globalist perspective,
the intellection thinking about a problem will see from the point of global or
international interests. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method in
which the Indonesian government's strategy for promoting tourism to the
Philippines is to examine current issues. The authors collected data from books,
journals, websites, reports, and previous research to analyze this case. In this
study, the sources used to explain how the tourism promotion strategy conducted
by the Indonesian government is specific to the Philippines.
This research shows that the Indonesian government has a variety of
strategies for promoting tourism to the Philippines. Through its program, the
ministry of parliament strive to promote Indonesia's tourism sector to the
Philippines through cooperation programs between the two countries, tourism
marketing development through branding strategies, selling strategies, and
tourism promotion through advertising strategies. This strategy increased foreign
tourist visits, particularly from the Philippines to Indonesia. Based on data from
BPS, the number of Philippine tourists visiting Indonesia decreased in 2018. With
the strategy of the Indonesian government in promoting tourism to the
Philippines, the number of Philippine tourists visiting Indonesia will rise again in
2019.
