Implementasi Metode Boyer Moore Pada Chatbot Pedoman Mahasiswa Fmipa Universitas Riau Berbasis Instant Messaging Platform

Riau University’s handbook was prepared to support the implementation of
educational programs and provide guidance to the academic communities who need
information about various rules and procedures that exist in the campus
environment. However, there are drawbacks to using the handbook, such as the
efficiency of the media itself. The solution is to develop a chatbot system that can
operate on an instant messaging platform as a communication medium for questions
and answers that can provide information quickly and accurately without having to
install it on the smartphone. The chatbot system uses the Boyer Moore pattern
matching algorithm and the Jaro Winkler Distance algorithm in the preprocessing
process of spell-checking text which is implemented with the Python programming
language and Telegram API as a medium to receive and answer questions from
users. The results showed that the chatbot could provide answers to users with an
answer accuracy rate of 95.2% and a system acceptance rate of 86.5% or strongly
agree.
