Pengelolaan Ekowisata Mangrove Berkelanjutan Di Kampung Kayu Ara Permai Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak
Mangrove ecotourism management often experiences problems in terms of ecology, economy, and socio-culture. Based on these conditions, the formulation of the problem in the form of questions as follows: 1) What are the environmental, socio-cultural and economic conditions of the community around the mangrove ecotourism area of Kayu Ara Permai Village, and 2) What is the sustainability status of mangrove ecotourism management in Kayu Ara Permai Village.
This study aims to analyze the ecological, economic, and socio-cultural conditions of mangrove ecotourism at Kayu Ara Permai Village and analyze the sustainability status and design ecotourism management of the Kayu Ara mangrove forest. The benefits obtained from this research are as a source of data about the potential of ecotourism and a source of information about sustainable ecotourism management of mangrove forests in Kayu Ara Permai Village. This research was conducted in July – September 2020 at the Mangrove Ecotourism of Kayu Ara Permai Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency.
Data collection was carried out using 3 methods, namely: 1) Field survey method to collect biophysical data, socio-economic community, economic value of mangrove areas, 2) Interview method was used to obtain data on community perceptions of mangrove areas (existence, benefits), participation and public awareness in the management of mangrove areas, and efforts to improve the environment, as well as community assessments of the sustainability status of the mangrove ecotourism area of Kampung Kayu Ara Permai, 3) A literature study was conducted to examine the steps for managing the mangrove area of Kampung Kayu Ara Permai that have been and will be carried out. Field data collection techniques (biophysics of mangrove environment, economic value of mangroves) were carried out by purposive sampling with 30 respondents.
Data analysis was carried out using: (1) descriptive analysis of the biophysics of the area, the socio-economic conditions of the community (community participation and awareness in mangrove area management, community assessment of the existence of mangrove areas and efforts to improve the environment, as well as stakeholder needs), area management policies and institutions. mangrove ecotourism at Kayu Ara Permai Village, as well as management activities that have been and will be carried out in the future; (2) Sustainability status analysis (MDS) was conducted to determine the sustainability status of the mangrove ecotourism area management in Kayu Ara Permai Village; (4) Rapfish analysis was conducted to determine the index/sustainability status of each dimension in the management of sustainable mangrove area management for mangrove ecotourism at Kayu Ara Permai Village.
The current status of mangrove ecotourism management in Kayu Ara Permai Village is multidimensional, including the category of quite sustainable. The results of the analysis of each dimension showed that the ecological index (79.28%) was included in the very sustainable category. The socio-cultural dimension (54.66%) and the economic dimension (56.97%) indicate a fairly

sustainable category. Mangrove ecotourism Kampung Kayu Ara Permai has mangrove conditions that play a role as a provider of protected animal habitat. The economic condition of the community is seen from the dependence on livelihood sources, so the people of Kampung Kayu Ara Permai on average still depend on the mangrove forest for their lives. The social and cultural conditions of the community are seen from community participation in maintaining and managing mangrove ecotourism at Kayu Ara Permai Village which is considered quite good. Leverage factors that need to be pushed are: the ecological dimension (coastal conditions and coastal abrasion), the economic dimension (types of ecotourism products that can be marketed, facilities and infrastructure, community income levels, absorption of local workers) and socio-cultural dimensions (distance from settlements to the area, contribution of the tourism sector).
