Efektivitas Penerapan Ventury Air System (VAS) Pada Pendederan Benih Ikan Bawal Bintang (Trachinotus Blochii)
Fresh water Silver Pompano is a prospective commodity that can be
developed in aquaculture and has a high economic value in local and export
markets with prices up to Rp. 65.000 - Rp. 90.000/kg. The low amount of
dissolved oxygen in the rearing tank will also affect the low rate of growth and
survival and production of Silver Pompano fry. To overcome this problem can be
done by using a Ventury air system (VAS).
Technology Ventury air system (VAS), is a technology that uses the flow of
water and can produce a microbubble continuously across the surface of the
water. This system can be applied in a nursery scale on Silver Pompano, so that
using this technology is expected to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in
the water and be able to increase the growth and survival of Silver Pompano.
The purpose and benefit of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of
the application oftechnology Ventury air system (VAS) that has been modified,
with various sizes of PVC pipe holes, so that it can increase dissolved oxygen
levels and can reduce the level of cannibalism in the nursery of Silver Pompano.
By using this method, you will get of the optimal PVC pipe hole size in increasing
dissolved oxygen levels (Dissolved oxygen). This research was conducted at the
Fresh Water Fish Seed Center (BBIAP) Kab. Meranti Islands, Riau Province.
This research was conducted with a completely randomized factorial
design (CRD), with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is stocking
density with 2 treatment levels (P1 = 250 fish/m3 and P2 = 500 fish/m3), and the
second factor is the diameter of the PVC pipe hole with 4 treatment levels (0, 2, 3
and 4 mm). The stocking density and diameter of the PVC hole had a significant
effect on the growth of Silver Pompano (Tracinotus blochii). In this study, the
highest number of bubbles was produced in treatment D1 (diameter 2 mm) and the
best treatment and the effect on the absolute growth weight of this Silver
Pompano was treatment D2 (diameter 3 mm), which was 2,32 grams.
The maintenance of Silver Pompano seeds can be carried out with a high
stocking density of up to 500 fish/m3, even with a diameter of 3 mm PVC holes are
able to provide an absolute weight growth rate of 2,32 grams, feed efficiency of
64,44 %, specific growth rate of 6,06% and a survival rate of 97,51%.
The suggestion is that activities in the nursery phase of Silver Pompano
(Tracinotus blochii) in fiber tanks should use a stocking density of 500 fish/m3. It
is also necessary to do further research on the differences between modifications
with materials other than PVC pipes and the calculation of the flow rate
generated from the Ventury air system (VAS).
