Diplomasi Budaya Indonesia Di Rusia Tahun 2016-2017

This paper explain the cultural diplomacy carried out by Indonesia against Russia
through the 2016-2017 Indonesian Festival. For the first time, Indonesia is
holding the largest integrated cultural festival in Russia, starting in 2016. As a
country with cultural diversity, Indonesia uses the Indonesian Festival as a means
to carry out cultural diplomacy in order to promote Indonesian culture to the
international community.
Perspective of pluralism used of this research, cultural diplomacy theory and the
concept of national interest. The method used is descriptive qualitative research
method. Meanwhile, data collection was carried out using library research
techniques consisting of books, journals, news and websites with trustworthy
credibility.
Based on this research, proves that Indonesia has carried out various cultural
diplomacy through the 2016-2017 Indonesian Festival to build a positive image.
Cultural diplomacy carried out by Indonesia can be seen through various aspects
such as: (1) Opening Ceremony, (2) Activities during festivals, (3) Culinary
presentations during festivals, and (4) Society, institutions and state officials.
