Hubungan Kecerdasan Emosional Dan Budaya Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Guru Sekolah Dasar Di Kecamatan Pujud Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
This research is motivated by the low performance of teachers in schools
so that it is necessary to improve teacher performance. Based on the results of
observations and interviews with several elementary school principals and
supervisors in Pujud District, that the current teacher performance is not optimal.
This is because the performance has not been in line with the expectations of the
organization/school. Work results are not achieved properly because teachers
carry out their duties and responsibilities less than optimally. In this regard, this
study aims to analyze emotional intelligence, work culture and teacher
performance, and determine the relationship between emotional and cultural
intelligence on teacher performance.
This type of research is a quantitative research with correlational
techniques. The variables studied were two independent variables which included
teacher emotional intelligence (X1) and work culture (X2) with the variable being
teacher performance (Y). Research respondents were elementary school teachers
in Pujud District, Rokan Hilir Regency who found 109 people obtained by simple
random sampling technique. Data was collected through the distribution of
questionnaires as a research instrument. The data analysis used is descriptive
analysis, inferential statistical analysis and hypothesis testing. The instrument
reliability coefficient was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula.
Partially, there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence
and teacher performance of 0.103, and there is a positive relationship between
work culture and teacher performance of 0.089. And while together there is a
positive relationship between emotional intelligence and work culture on teacher
performance of 0.154. So it can be said that emotional intelligence and work
culture make a significant contribution to teacher performance, meaning that it
increases emotional intelligence and work culture in elementary schools in Pujud
District. On the other hand, the worse the emotions and work culture, the worse
the performance of elementary school teachers in Pujud District will be.
