ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in March 2021 in the Beach of Pandan District,
Central Tapanuli, North Sumatera. The purpose of this study was to analyze the
type and abundance of solid waste and to determine the differences in the
abundance of solid waste between stations, times and zones with different
anthropogenic activities. The method used in this research is survey method which
is carried out by direct observation and taking samples in the field. Based on the
results of the study, the highest abundance of solid waste was found in community
settlements area with an average of 0.30 units/m2, based on the time of collection
was 0.27 units/m2 before the weekend, and based on the zone the highest
abundance was found in the upper zone with an average of 0.43 units/m2. The
abundance of solid waste between stations was found to be significantly different
(p0.05). There was
also no significant difference (p>0.05) found between the amount of solid waste
in the upper and lower zones.
