Analisis Transformasi Tenaga Kerja Provinsi Riau Tahun 2010-2019

Structural transformation is a process of transition from a traditional economic system to a modern economic system. Structural transformation is characterized by a shift in labor and investment from the primary sector to the secondary sector and finally to the tertiary sector.
This study aims to analyze the transformation of the economic structure in Riau Province in 2010 – 2019 and to find out the future workforce projections in 2020 – 2025 based on the transformation of the economic structure in Ria Province. This study uses a quantitative analysis method, where to answer the first research objective, which is to know the transformation of the economic structure in Riau Province, it is analyzed using Shift Share Analysis while knowing the projection of the number of workers in the economic sector after knowing the structural transformation of the economy. Furthermore, the projection calculation will be known through the calculation of the elasticity of the workforce.
Based on the results of the study, it is known that the transformation of the economic structure in Riau Province in 2010 – 2019, has shifted from the primary sector to the secondary and tertiary sectors. Based on the Shift Share analysis, it can be seen that the economic structure according to the economic sector in Riau Province, that the fast-growing industrial sectors are the construction sector, transportation and warehousing, transportation and warehousing, provision of accommodation and food and drink, information and communication, financial services and insurance, real estate Estate, Corporate Services, Educational Services, Health Services and Social Activities and other Services are sectors with fast growth. As for the sectors that have competitive advantages, namely the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mining and Excavation Processing Industry, Electricity and Gas Procurement, Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling, Financial Services and Insurance, Real Estate. So based on the growth and competitiveness of the industrial sector which is classified as a potential sector to be developed in Riau Province when viewed from its growth and competitive advantage, namely the Financial Services and Insurance, Real Estate sectors, this is because of the fast sector growth and is the leading sector in Riau Province. Future labor projections in 2020 – 2024 based on the transformation of the economic structure in Riau Province will continue to increase, but from the results of the elasticity analysis it is known that the high absorption of labor has gradually shifted to the secondary and tertiary sectors. This can be seen from the primary sector, namely the mining and quarrying sector, which has a workforce projection that has decreased so that the movement of labor moves down the manufacturing sector and the service sector.
