Analisis Preferensi Konsumen Terhadap Buah Salak Pondoh (Salacca Edulis Reinw Cv Pondoh) Di Pasar Tradisional Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the attributes of pondoh snake fruit (Salacca
edulis Reinw cv Pondoh) which are consumer preferences in making purchasing
decisions and to determine the attributes that are considered by consumers in
making purchase decisions for pondoh snake fruit in Pekanbaru City. This
research was carried out in three traditional markets in Pekanbaru City, which
were in Arengka Morning Market, Kodim Market, and Central Market. This study
applied a survey method and the determination of the sample was conducted
through accidental sampling technique with 90 respondents. The attributes of
pondoh snake fruit analyzed were the attributes of taste, skin color, flesh texture,
size, price, freshness, and cleanliness of the fruit. The method used in analyzing
the data is Chi Square and Fishbein multi-attribute analysis. The results of Chi
Square analysis showed that there are significant differences in consumer
preferences for the attributes of pondoh snake fruit. Pondoh snake fruit preferred
by consumers in traditional markets in Pekanbaru City, is pondoh snake fruit
which has the attributes of sweet taste, blackish brown skin color, smooth flesh
texture, medium size, medium price, fresh fruit, and clean fruit. Based on
Fishbein's multi-attribute analysis, the attributes that consumers consider in
making purchasing decisions for pondoh snake fruit in traditional market of
Pekanbaru City are snake fruit taste, fruit cleanliness, fruit freshness, fruit flesh
texture, fruit size, fruit price, and fruit skin color.
