ABSTRAC
Currently, technological advances are in line with scientific advances, so there
are many variations created for the benefit of human life. Therefore, many
problems can be solved by the use of modern technology, one of them in
agriculture. Watering the plants is still mostly done by hand, which is difficult to
maintain and manage, and is in poor condition. The Internet of Things (IoT)
facilitates day-to-day operations, especially with practical and efficient
technology. The IoT allows devices to communicate. B. For sending and receiving
data. For this reason, the design of an automated watering device for green onion
plants based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has been developed. In this study, we
designed an automatic irrigation system consisting of an ESP8266, a soil
moisture sensor, dht11, and a fan. The working system of this tool includes
automatic watering of plants based on soil moisture content, notifications are sent
to the Telegram application and monitored through the thingspeak.com website.
This tool helps save time, reduce human error in adjusting soil moisture, and
maximize the net profit of plant owners. Measurements can be easily made in the
field or remotely. You can also get real-time data and values for controlling soil
temperature and moisture after harvesting green onions known from the
thingspeak.com website.
