Kinerja Pertumbuhan Ikan Nila Merah (Oreochromis Niloticus) Dengan Pemberian Pakan Yang Mengandung Hormon Tiroksin Yang Dipelihara Pada Air Bersalinitas
ABSTRACT
This research was conducted from October to November at the Gogok Village,
Tebing Tinggi Barat District, Meranti Islands Regency. The purpose of this study
was to determine the optimal dose of feed containing the hormone thyroxine (T4)
on the growth of tilapia reared in saline water. This study used a completely
randomized design (CRD) with four treatments where each treatment was
replicated three times. The treatment design used was P0: Feeding pellets (control),
P1: Feeding pellets + 2 mg thyroxine hormone/kg feed, P2: Feeding pellets + 4 mg
thyroxine hormone/feed, P3: Feeding pellets + 6 mg hormone thyroxine/kg feed.
The results showed that there was an effect of feeding containing the hormone
thyroxine (T4) on absolute weight growth, absolute length, daily growth rate, feed
efficiency, and feed conversion of red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The best
results in this study were in P3 treatment with a dose of thyroxine hormone 6 mg/kg
feed, which gave an absolute weight growth of 4.00±0.28 g, an absolute length
growth of 3.20±0.24 cmcm, a daily growth rate of 3.20±0.24 cmcm. 3.59%, feed
efficiency of 92.18%, and feed conversion of 1.08.The results of water quality
measurements during this study were a temperature of 280c, pH 7, DO of 4.33
mg/L and salinity of 17 ppt.
