Thursdays can affect blood pressure by increasing parasympathetic activity due to
neurotrophic factors and influencing the physiology of the body's metabolism.
This study aims to determine the effect of Monday and Thursday sunnah fasting
on blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Blood pressure was measured in
the morning, before, and after breaking the fast every time the respondent fasted
on Mondays and Thursdays for one month with a sphygmomanometer digitalThe

years (55%), with the gender of some respondents being male (55%). The most
education is high school (35%), all respondents in the study have a diet with high
salt consumption (100%) and most respondents have light physical activity (90%)
and adequate sleep patterns (90%). Most of the respondents had a history of
smoking (50%) and the body mass index of the respondents before fasting was
mostly first-degree obesity (60%) while after fasting was also first-degree obesity
(55%). Based on the Wilcoxon , p = 0.00 (p < 0.05) for systolic blood pressure
and paired t statistical test obtained p = 0.00 (p < 0.05) for diastolic blood
