Karakteristik Pasien Polip Nasi Di Poliklinik Tht-Kl Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2018-2020
Nasal polyps are disorders of the nasal mucosa in the form of soft masses that are
stemmed, round or oval, grayish-white, with a smooth surface. Nasal polyps are
still a problem because they can affect the patient's quality of life. This study aims
to determine the characteristics of nasal polyps patients at the ENT-HNS
Polyclinic, Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province in 2018-2020. The design of
this research used is descriptive using a retrospective study approach. The sample
of this study was nasal polyps patients obtained from medical records at the
ENT-HNS Polyclinic of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province for the period
2018-2020 which had complete data including age, gender, disease history, family
history, chief complaint, classification, histopathology, management of nasal
polyps and obtained 64 samples. The results of this study found that the
prevalence of nasal polyps was most common in the 41-50 year age group in 17
people (26.6%) and it was more common in men 39 (60.9%), with the highest
history of sinusitis, 18 people ( 28.1%). 14 people (21.9%) said there was no
family history of having nasal polyps before. Nasal polyps patients often come
with the chief complaint, namely nasal congestion 53 people (82.8%) with the
highest classification of nasal polyps, namely ethmoidal 56 people (87.5%), for
histopathology of nasal polyps, there was eosinophilic edema type (type I) 3
people (4.7%), chronic inflammatory type (type II) 2 people (3.1%) and the most
management was medical and surgery 51 people (79.7%).
