Efek Bortezomib Terhadap Ketebalan Tunika Intima Media Aorta Abdominalis Tikus Aterosklerosis
Atherosclerosis is a change that occurs in the lumen of the arteries caused by the
accumulation of cholesterol in the tunica intima of arteries. These changes are
characterized by fat deposits, leukocyte accumulation, foam cell formation,
smooth muscle cell migration and proliferation and extracellular matrix deposits,
resulting in thicker and stiffer blood vessels. Bortezomib is a proteasome inhibitor
that has anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, anti-angiogenic, anti-tumor activity
which is expected to inhibit the process of atherosclerosis. This study aims to
determine the effect of bortezomib on the thickness of the tunica intima media of
the abdominal aorta in atherosclerotic rats. The design of this research is an
experimental laboratory conducted in June-November 2021, the data obtained are
quantitative data. The results of this study showed that the highest mean thickness
of the tunica intima media of the abdominal aorta was found in the atherosclerosis
group and there was a significant difference between the atherosclerosis group
without bortezomib and the atherosclerosis group given bortezomib (p
