Hubungan Duration Of Untreated Psychosis Dengan Frekuensi Rawat Inap Berulang Skizofrenia Episode Pertama Di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Tampan Provinsi Riau Periode Maret 2019 – Maret 2020
Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder characterized by impaired perception of
reality (delusions and hallucinations). Duration of untreated psychosis refers to the
period from the onset of the first psychotic symptoms to the initiation of adequate
treatment. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between
duration of untreated psychosis and the rehospitalizations in first-episode
schizophrenia patients at the Tampan Mental Hospital, Riau Province for the
period March 2019 – March 2020. This study is a cross-sectional analytic with
consecutive sampling method. The sample in this study is 77 patients, with the
results obtained that the most patients were male, 46 (59,7%) patients, the most age
ranges were patients aged 17-25 years and 26-35 years, 22 (28, 6%) of patients
with the majority of patients coming from Pekanbaru, most patients with DUP > 6
months as much as 40 (51,9%) patients, the most patients with length of stay ≤ 30
days, 64 (83,1%) most of frequency of hospitalization were patients with one
hospitalization, 66 (85,7%) patients. The results of the study using chi-square test
did not show a relationship between duration of untreated psychosis and
rehospitalizations in first-episode schizophrenia.
