Analisis Neraca Air Pada Kesatuan Hidrologi Gambut Pulau Bengkalis, Kabupaten Bengkalis, Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
The area of Bengkalis Island when viewed from the status of its peat protection
function which is still in the good category is only 7,991 ha and that which has
been damaged or disturbed is much wider, namely 21,830 ha, resulting in land
subsidence that affects groundwater conditions and water balance. This research
at the Peat Hydrological Unit (KHG) of Bengkalis Island needs to be carried out
so that the water management system on the peatlands of Bengkalis Island
becomes better. This water balance research uses the Throntwaite Mather Water
Balance (TMWB) method which describes a temporal graph to show the deficit or
surplus status each month. Analysis of spatial data in the Bengkalis Island KHG
area uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) which divides Bengkalis Island
into 4 Sub-KHGs. The results of the climatological water balance analysis at the
Bengkalis Island KHG in 2020 showed that the Bengkalis Island KHG had never
experienced a drought (deficit) which meant that it always experienced a surplus
every month with varying levels of wetness (surplus). The level of wetness
(surplus) is highest in Sub-KHG 4 in November namely 45,38 million m3, while
the soil water balance the level of dryness (deficit) is highest in each Sub-KHG 3
in January, namely 7,93 million m3. This study also carries out a water balance
scenario from 2021 to 2025 which overall a surplus.
