Hubungan Pengetahuan, Sikap Dan Praktik Santri Pondok Pesantren Darul Muqomah Di Kota Pekanbaru Dengan Angka Kejadian Skabies
Scabies is a skin infection caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiesi var. Hominis.
According to data from Pekanbaru City Health Office, there were 29 cases of
infectious and parasitic diseases in 2019 and an increase to 155 cases happened
by the year 2020. The high incidence rate was due to the increased risk of disease
transmission in densely populated residential areas, high poverty rate and was
also influenced by the level of education, knowledge about personal hygiene and
inadequate access to health services. The purpose of this study was to determine
the correlation between knowledge, attitude, and practice of Darul Muqomah
Islamic Boarding School students in Pekanbaru City with the incidence of scabies.
This research was conducted in Pekanbaru on October 2020 – October 2021.
This research was a correlative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach,
with a total sample of 132 students in Darul Muqomah Islamic Boarding School
Pekanbaru. This study gathered primary data by requesting the students to fill out
questionnaires. The data obtained were then tested by the Chi-square correlation
test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Based on the result of a univariate
analysis, 113 students (85.6%) were not affected by scabies, 68 students (51.5%)
had good knowledge, 130 students (98.5%) had good attitude, 102 students (77.3
%) had good personal hygiene, and 110 students (83.3%) had good habits against
scabies. The result of a bivariate analysis showed that there was no correlation
between knowledge (p=0,272), attitude (p=1,000), personal hygiene (p=0,375)
and habits (p=0,739) with the incidence of scabies.
