Profil Pasien Abses Paru Yang Dirawat Inap Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode Tahun 2016-2020
Lung abscess is infection to the pulmonary parenchyma caused by a bacterial that results in
damage and supuration to lung tissue. Abcesses in the lungs are generally caused by aspiration
pneumonia, necrosis, and bacterial infections. The purpose of this study is to examine the
characteristics of lung abscess patients hospitalized at arifin achmad hospital in 2016-2020.
This type of research uses retrospective descriptive methods. This study included lung abscess
patients who had been hospitalized at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province, in 2016-2020
as many as 29 samples with total sampling techniques were taken. According to the results, the
most lung abscess patients were aged 36-45 years old, specifically 8 people (27,6%). Most of
lung abscesses patients are overwhemingly men, with 24 people (82,8%), the main symptoms
of the most lung abscess patients were coughing phlegm, specifically 10 people (34.5%), the
etiology of the most lung abscess patients was Pseudomonas aeruginosa which was 8 people
(27.6%). The most common comorbid condition in patients with lung abscesses was diabetes
mellitus, which was reported in 11 people (37.9%) and the most common treatment for lung
abscess patients is metronidazole and ceftazidime polytherapy, specifically 6 people (20,7%).
