MAIRA ERSANOLA/ 1808124767 - Nama Orang;

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by
the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 can occur through droplets.
One of the complications that often occurs in Covid-19 patients is ARDS. ARDS is
an acute respiratory disorder with noncardiogenic pulmonary edema manifested
as rapidly progressive dyspnea, tachypnea, and hypoxemia and an increase in the
permeability of the alveolar-capillary membrane to air, plasma solutions, and
proteins, with diffuse alveolar damage and fluid accumulation in the lung
parenchyma. ARDS can occur with direct abnormalities of the lung or with
indirect abnormalities. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of
ARDS in Covid-19 patients at Icu Arifin Achmad Regional General hospital of
riau province in 2020-2021. This type of research was a retrospective descriptive
study using medical record data. The results of this study were from the total
medical records obtained of as many as 30 patients who were confirmed to be
COVID-19 with ARDS. This study found that the most confirmed patients with
COVID-19 who experienced ARDS were male (56.60%), with the most aged > 60
years (46.66%). The highest degree of ARDS experienced was severe ARDS
(96.67%), the most comorbid patients with diabetes mellitus (40%), with
breathing apparatus used by non-invasive ventilators (50%), and the most
patients died (93.30%). This research is expected to provide data and knowledge
for further research.
