Pengujian Kuat Lentur Papan Kayu Bagian Pangkal Batang Kelapa Sawit Dengan Metode Laminasi Menggunakan Hpl (High Pressure Laminate)
ABSTRACT
The large amount of palm oil waste that is not used in replanting activities causes
environmental damage, therefore research is carried out so that the waste can be
utilized. The aim of this research is for bending strength the palm oil wood. The
base of the palm oil wood will be tested for bending strength with the laminate
method using HPL (High Pressure Laminate). Testing standard based on SNI ISO
16978:2010 with the Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The palm oil wood has
two parts, namely the inside and the edge, and each part gets 3 variations of
replicates. Laminate without HPL, laminate with HPL on the bottom side and
laminate with HPL on the top and the bottom sides. The section area is 40 cm. x 5
cm x 1.5 cm. The results showed that the inside of the wood plus HPL on the
bottom side experienced a decrease in bending strength of -15.91% or 2.6 MPa
and the inside of the wood plus HPL on the top and bottom experienced an
increase in bending strength of 9.61% or 1.57 MPa. In the research results, the
edge of the wood plus HPL on the bottom side experienced an increase in bending
strength of 63.92% or 15.93 MPa and the edge of the wood plus HPL on the top
and bottom sides experienced an increase in bending strength of 38.76% or 9 ,66
MPa. The inside of the wood class is obtained from class V wood and at the edges
is obtained class IV and V wood based on PKKI 1961, this value unqualified for
structural construction materials. The wood can be used as interior and nonconstruction
materials such as door panels, partition boards and others.
