The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global action plan
approved by global leaders, including Indonesia, to end poverty, to reduce
inequality and protect the environment. SDGs contained about seventeen goals
and one hundred and sixty-nine expected targets were achieved in 2030. One of
human resource's priority areas, especially on the sixth point, is to ensure the
availability and management of sustainable water and sanitation for all, among
them, is to achieve universal and fair access to safe drinking water and affordable
for all. The Sixth Human Resources significantly improved water consumption in
all sectors and assured the continued retrieval and supply of clean water to
address water scarcity and reduce the number of those experiencing scarce water,
enhancing international cooperation and capacity development support for
developing countries in water-related activities and programs to support and
strengthening local community participation in improving water and sanitation
management.
United Nation Environment Program (UNEP) suggests that the
meteorology and geographical characteristics be carried out by rain water
harvesting, with annual rainfall in Indonesia reaching 2263 mm/yr. Thus,
rainwater harvesting in Indonesia should be followed up as one of efforts to
manage sustainable water resources. The main objective of the study was to
analyze the dimensions of rainwater reservoirs and the contribution of the
application of rainwater utilization technology for various types of houses, 220 m2
gable roof, 144 m2 pyramid roof, 36 m2 gable roof and 36 m2 pyramid roof to meet
the needs of clean water in in Kampung Rampak, Siak Sub-district, Siak Regency.

The research approach method used was the Behavior model by
simulating an algorithm from the system the volume of operations based on a
mass balance based on a range of time using the approach of Rain Cycle 2.0
program in the input system consisting of effective household roofs (m2), the
amount of daily rain in a year (mm/year), the water supply coefficient of roofs and
water needs based on the number of family members (m3/days). The rainfall data
was used for research from BWS III Sumatera Hydrology Division, with location
of the Bunga Raya (Siak) rainfall station 2015 to 2020. The model simulations
were conducted in the research area for various data of rainfall for various types
of house 220 m2 of roof, 144 m2 of limas roof, 36 m2 of roof of the pelana house
and 36 m2 sky roofs to be fulfilled as water needs with the number of occupants of
the house as many as 3, 4 and 5 people.
The results of the study prove that during the longest drought for 26
consecutive days based on rainfall recording data from the Balai Wilayah Sungai
III rainfall station Bunga Raya (Siak), the capacity of rainwater storage tanks to

meet the riil needs of clean water on an individual household scale per year. year
12 m3/year for the number of occupants 3 people, 16 m3/year for the number of
occupants 4 people and 20 m3/year for the number of occupants 5 people, in
various types of houses 220 m2 gable roof catchment area 93 m2, 144 m2 pyramid
roof catchment area 27 m2, 36 m2 gable catchment area 21 m 2and 36 m2 pyramid
roof catchment area 15 m2 in Kampung Rempak, Kecamatan Siak, Kabupaten
Siak for the number of occupants of 3 people requires a tank dimension of 1 m3
which can last up to 32 consecutive days and for the number of occupants of 4
and 5 people requires a tank dimension of 2 m3 to be able to withstand the longest
drought for 26 consecutive days, and still m have clean water reserves for up to
37 and 46 days, respectively.
The contribution of optimal rainfall to obtain clean water by applying
rainwater utilization technology to support the fulfillment of clean water needs on
an individual household scale in various types of houses 220 m2 gable catchment
area 154 m2, 144 m2 pyramid roof catchment area 90 m2, 36 m2 gable roof
catchment area 70 m2 and 36 m2 pyramid roof catchment area 74 m2 in Kampung
Rempak, Kecamatan Siak, Kabupaten Siak for occupants of 3 people with total
clean water needs of 157 m3/year respectively 100%, 100%, 94.9% and 100% for
the occupants of 4 people with a total need for clean water of 214 m3/year
respectively are 100%, 89.5%, 69.6% and 73.6% and 44.8% while for the number
of occupants 5 people with total needs clean water 264 m3/year are 100%, 72.6%,
56.4% and 59.7%, respectively.
The capacity of the optimal rainwater reservoir for individual household
scales that contributes to the maximum rainfall is 2495mm/year on various types
of houses 220 m2 gable catchment area 154 m2, 144 m2 pyramid roof catchment
area 90 m2, 36 m2 gable catchment area 70 m2 and 36 m2 of pyramid roof
catchment area of 74 m2 to be used as the fulfillment of clean water needs in
Kampung Rempak Village, Siak District, Siak Regency based on the number of
occupants of 3 people with the total need for clean water of 157 m3/year in a row
is 10 m3, 23 m3, 35 m3 and 37 m3, for occupants of 4 people with a total need for
clean water of 214 m3/year in a row are 17 m3, 43 m3, 24 m3 and 28 m3, while for
occupants 5 people with a total need for clean water of 264 m3/year in a row are
37 m3, 33 m3, 15 m3 and 19 m3.
