Factors that cause poor and reduced moral behavior of early childhood are caused by the difficulty of controlling because many factors can affect the development of attitudes and behavior of a child, the influence of technological advances, especially information technology which provides a variety of program choices, which have an impact on the formation of a person's character. children, so that teachers and parents are quite difficult to control let alone control children, as well as the cultural tendencies of pragmatism (all shortcuts and practical, fast-paced), consumptive (and wanting to use/own) and hedonism (want everything delicious and delicious) which continues to develop in every layer of life.
The purpose of this study was to determine the moral improvement of children at the age of 5-6 years through Batak folklore in Ebenhaezer Pahae Jae Kindergarten. This research is a classroom action research. The population and sample of this study were children aged five to six years with a total of sixteen (16) children, consisting of nine girls and seven boys. In this research there are two cycles, each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, reflection. Data was obtained through data collection and data analysis through observation sheets.
Based on the results of the research on the pre-cycle, the researchers got the results reaching a percentage (18.13%) with the undeveloped category. After the first cycle of action was carried out using the storytelling method, then the researchers increased the moral and religious values of children to 24.92% with the category starting to develop. Furthermore, in the second cycle, which was carried out using the storytelling method with Batak folklore, it reached an average (64.44%) with the category developing as expected.
