Modalitas Bahasa Melayu Riau Dialek Kampar Timur

This study aims to describe (1) the type of modality of Riau Malay dialect of East Kampar dialect and (2) function of Riau Malay language modal dialect of East Kampar dialect. This study uses a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The data source in this study is Riau Malay dialect of East Kampar. The data collection methods used in this study are the listening method, the recording method, and the note-taking method. Data analysis techniques in this study are (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, there are four types of modality of Riau Malay dialect of East Kampar dialect, namely (1) intentional modality consisting of 85 data, (2) epistemic modality consisting of 72 data, (3) deontic modality consisting of 21 data, and (4 ) dynamic modality consists of 4 data. Then there are 3 functions of Riau Malay language modal dialect of East Kampar, (1) change the tone, (2) declare attitude, and (3) disclosure of the mood.
