Sastra Lisan Mantra Pengobatan Di Muntai Kecamatan Bantan Kabupaten Bengkalis

This study aims to describe the structure, rhyme, and meaning of
healing mantras in Muntai, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. The benefit of
this research is to increase the reader's understanding and knowledge of oral
literature, especially mantras. The object of this research is the healing spell in
Muntai Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. This study uses a qualitative
approach using descriptive methods. Data was collected through observation,
interviews, recordings, note-taking techniques, and documentation. Data analysis
techniques in this study are transliteration, classifying, describing, and
concluding. Sources of data are four informants who are shamans or bomohs in
Muntai Village. Based on the results of the study, there were 17 data on healing
spells which were analyzed by looking at the text of the mantra. Mantras are
analyzed in terms of structure consisting of title elements, opening elements,
intention elements, suggestions elements, purpose elements, and closing elements,
then rhyme, namely assonance, alliteration, perfect rhyme, initial rhyme, final
rhyme, visual rhyme, identical rhyme, and intermittent rhyme, and the meaning of
the healing mantra text that can be understood in terms of medicinal ingredients.
