Analisis Penerapan Unified Power Flow Controller ( Upfc ) Pada Saluran Transmisi 150 Kv (Sub-Sistem Riau)
ABSTRACT
Electric power system is a major need in people's lives in supporting activities.
Installation failures in the electric power system are unavoidable because of the
long transmission distance, covering a very large area, and the rapid growth of
community needs compared to the improvement of the existing power transmission
system. This has a major effect on the flow of power in the transmission of electric
power, resulting in a decrease in voltage and loss of electrical power. One of the
ways to overcome voltage stability and improve the reliability of the electric power
system is to use Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS). One
of the FACTS devices is the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC). UPFC can
control a bus voltage and power flow for optimal system operation. UPFC modeling
using MATLAB Simulink software with PSAT 2.1.11 toolbox. Riau sub-system with
initial conditions, there is an uneven voltage rating on the B.BATU bus of 0.96312
p.u and on the PAYAN bus of 0.96537 p.u After applying the UPFC the voltage
increased to 0.97124 p.u on the B.BATU bus and 0.97154 p.u on the PAYAN bus.
decrease in power losses after installation of UPFC by 1,5% and 1,2%.
