ABSTRACT
Liquid waste in the last pool of wastewater disposal at the palm oil factory needs
to be measured for wastewater quality to avoid pollution and the negative impact
of waste. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the quality of palm oil liquid waste,
one of which is by measuring the physical elements of liquid waste. To see these
conditions, it is required to design a tool using Arduino Uno as a controller, a
temperature sensor (DS18B20) to measure the temperature of wastewater, a pH
sensor to measure the acidity of wastewater, a Turbidity sensor to measure the
level of turbidity and an SD card module for storing loggers data in the form of
measurements of each sensor. The sensor voltage (V), day, date, month and year
are arranged in real time. The results of the tests that have been carried out show
that from testing the palm oil liquid waste monitoring system there were errors in
the instrumentation section, which were the pH sensor with an average error of
1.09%, the temperature sensor of 3.05% and the turbidity sensor of 3.32%. The
time for transferring data from Arduino Uno to SD card was every 5 second in 30
minutes. In the research, monitoring tools and data storage were running
smoothly, proven by the success of measuring instruments that displayed readings
on the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and recording data stored on a memory
card. Based on the test results in the field, it was found that the data of the
average value of the pH by the pH sensor of 5.34, the average value of the
temperature sensor reading of 31,73 °C and the with an average turbidity level of
285,77 NTU.
