ABSTRACT
Cats are one of the pets and loved by many people. This is because cats have a
cute and friendly nature towards humans. Not a few humans make cats as friend
or life companions. Currently, cats are the most popular pets in the world.
Pekanbaru has several cat communities, and even often holds cats contests but
there is no container so they use public places such as malls. Rescue in
Pekanbaru does not yet have a proper place for street cats that need special care.
Many cat lovers do not keep cats or do not have cats at home for various reasons,
such as limited space, limited costs and also prohibitions from family or other
parties, so there is no place for entertainment and information facilities for cat
lovers who do not can have a cat. From these problems, it is necessary to plan a
place to accommodate cat lovers as recreation and education about cats. Not only
for cat lovers, this plan is also to accommodate cat habitats in the form of nature
both indoor and ouutdoor. The adoption of the Biomimicry Architecture themes
was applied to the design of the Cat Lover Center in Pekanbaru City with the aim
of maximizing function, achieving energy efficiency, and improving the quality of
objects and user activities through the applicatio of biological criteria and
minimizing negative impacts that might be generated by the design object.
