Peranan Muhammadiyah Dalam Membangun Jenjang Pendidikan Formal Di Kecamatan Mandau Kabupaten Bengkalis (1963-2020)

Education in Islamic teachings is very important in social life, in the
Mandau District, Muhammadiyah is also developing with its role, especially in
the field of education. The purpose of the research is to find out the early history
of Muhammadiyah education in Mandau District, to know the role of
Muhammadiyah in building education in Mandau District 1963-2020, to know the
driving and inhibiting factors of Muhammadiyah in developing education in
Mandau District 1963-2020. formal education in Mandau District. In this study
the authors used historical research methods. Data were collected through
observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. Data analysis used in
this research is data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of
this study are the beginning of the formation of the Muhammadiyah Persyarikatan
Mandau District, which was formed in 1966 by immigrants with different
backgrounds. From an association there were ideas, discussions and preparations
to be able to build a business charity in the field of formal education as a goal and
condition through land waqf, namely, Kindergarten Aisyiyah 1. The role of
Muhammadiyah from 1963 to 2020 was quite important, this can be seen from the
success of Muhammadiyah in building education formal education in Mandau
District by paying attention to the needs of the community in the field of Islamic
education and applying Muhammadiyah values. The motivating factors of
Muhammadiyah in building education are loyalty of Muhammadiyah
management, good cooperation, sufficient human resources (HR), adequate
funding, the existence of religious social activities, conducive situation, religious
values. The inhibiting factors are limited space, low physical facilities, central
government policies, less complete administration. It can be seen Muhammadiyah
that being able to adapt and play a role in education and build some formal
education.
