Indonesia has many tribes that have their own characteristics in dressing, this is because each region in Indonesia has its own distinctive clothes, the Baju Kurung Labuh is a typical Riau clothes bracket worn by Malay women, which means confining those who wear it, either confining them in It is also customary in the Shari'a, this brackets shirt is usually worn at traditional ceremonies, official events, as well as daily clothes. The objectives of this research are 1) To find out the shape, color, and motif of the typical Riau Kurung Labuh Baju, 2) To find out the value, meaning and philosophy in the shape, color, and motif of the Kurung Labuh Baju Kurung Labuh, 3) To determine the role of the government in preserving Riau Malay Kurung shirt. In this study, the authors used a qualitative method. The results of this study are the Kurung Labuh shirt is a Malay clothing that is especially worn by women, this brackets shirt already existed in the days of the kingdoms in Riau, one of which was the Siak Sri Indrapura kingdom. by the king's wife and members of the royal family, it can even be used by the wider community, but the use of colors and accessories such as tanjak and cloth on clothes is adjusted to existing customary rules, this is because there are many meanings contained in colors in Malay. The brackets in this shirt also contain meaning in the form of the clothes, namely the meaning of confining the person who wears it to avoid disgrace and shame, as well as from slander and calamity.
