Implikatur Dalam Komik Yotsuba&! Vol. 1-3 Karya Kiyohiko Azuma

The purpose of this study is to describe violation of maxims that occur in implicature utterances and classify the types of implicatures found based on theory of Grice (1975) and Yule (2014). The data were analyzed by using a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained from the comic Yotsuba&! by Kiyohiko Azuma volumes 1-3. From the study it was found that there were 20 maxim violations and 24 data implicatures. In each type of conversational implicature, there are violation of maxims that have a spesific purpose, namely lying, showing annoyance, making jokes, and other purposes. It is different with conventional implicatures because the occurrence of these implicatures is not related to the principle of cooperation, only depend on public knowledge in general.
