concerning Nagari. Long before the enactment of Law No. 22 of 1999, until now,
Law No. 23 of 2014 concerning regional autonomy has been enacted. The state
recognizes and respects customary law community units and their traditional
rights as long as they are still alive and in accordance with community
development and the laws of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In the
Nagari government there is a Bundo Kanduang container. Bundo Kanduang as
straight means the mother of the crossbreed. Bundo Kanduang in Minangkabau is
symbolized as “Limpapeh rumah nan gadang, sumarak anjuang nan agung”
(butterfly decorating the rumah gadang, very alive in the village). Bundo
Kanduang can be classified as an identity that refers to the uniqueness of
Minangkabau women as individuals who must provide clear support to the
people. This research is an empirical sociological research in which the primary
material is obtained from direct interviews with the wali nagari, the head of the
Nagari Customary Density (KAN) and bundo kanduang. As for the results of this
research, currently many institutions or Bundo Kanduang institutions are placed
under the Nagari Adat Density (KAN) structure so that when asked about the
representation of women in traditional meetings, there is always a strong reason
that Bundo Kanduang's voice has been represented by the Nagari Adat Density
(KAN). ). Bundo Kanduang in the current Nagari Muaro Takung government
system is actually a weak part of the cultural and economic decision-making
system in the adat system. With the weakening of the role of Bundo Kanduang in
the Minangkabau indigenous people, this institution is no longer a reliable agent
for the protection of women's rights, especially in terms of social, economic and
political interests.
