Pengaruh Lama Perendaman Biji Aren (Arenga Pinnata Merr.) Menggunakan Larutan Kno3 Untuk Mempercepat Daya Perkecambahan
ABSTRACT
Arenga pinnata is a non timber forest product that deserves to be developed. Efforts to develop Arenga pinnata are very dependent on existing seeds. KNO3 can play a role in promoting chemical reactions that lead to germination. This study aimed to determine the effect of soaking time using KNO3 on seed germination and to determine the best soaking time using KNO3 on Arenga pinnata. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 5 times so that 20 experimental units were obtained. Each replication consisted of 6 experimental samples. So that the total seeds of Arenga pinnata used were 120 experimental units. This study used 4 treatments, namely P0 = without soaking, P1 = Soaking Arenga pinnata seeds using KNO3 for 24 hours, P2 = Soaking Arenga pinnata seeds using KNO3 for 48 hours, P3 = Soaking Arenga pinnata seeds using KNO3 for 72 hours. The data obtained from the research results were statistically analyzed using Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) and then analyzed using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. The duration of soaking Arenga pinnata seeds with KNO3 solution had a significant effect on germination. The duration of immersion for 24 hours (P1) significantly increased the germination, the results showed that the best treatment was 93% germination percentage, 63% normal germination percentage, germination time reached 80% 31 days and germination capacity 21 days.
