ABSTRACT
Food waste, which often has a harmful impact on the environment, is still a problem for the world community. The cause of the increase in food waste is due to the habit of people throwing away leftover food, contrary to the fact that there are still many people who are unable to meet their daily food needs. The activity of distributing food is not a new thing, it's just that sometimes the food received may not necessarily be able to adjust to what can be consumed by potential food recipients. Android-based food sharing applications are presented to bridge people who want to share their food so they are not wasted on people who need food. Prospective food recipients can choose the desired food according to food uploads found in surrounding locations with the help of Google Maps API reverse geocoding technology. Prospective food owners can set the status of availability and grant permission for food upon requests from potential food applicants. In distributing food, food owners cannot upload photos other than food, because the uploaded food photos will be validated first using the food validator API technology. This can avoid user uploads that are not fit for the purpose of sharing food. Research with the research and development method that produces an Android-based food sharing application designed with the extreme programming method has been tested with unit test results getting a value of 90%, UI testing with a value of 94.2% and usability testing getting a value of 86.61%. This application is very feasible to use.
