ABSTRACT
The increase in the need and consumption of electrical energy in terms of both quality and quantity, thus the power factor must be improved to be high, in accordance with the expected power factor. Using a thyristor switched capacitor (TSC) which is used in single-phase installations to improve power factor where the thyristor ignition control circuit uses the TCA 785 IC. reactive is one of the main problems. The Thyristor Switched Capacitor circuit has proven to be successful in compensating reactive power in a single phase installation. Selection of the right thyristor snubber circuit where the determination of the value of its components is carried out through valid calculations and not using trial-and-error techniques.
