Pengembangan Electronic Encyclopedia Chemistry Laboratotry (E - Encylab) Menggunakan Flip Pdf Professional Untuk Meningkatkan Level Literasi Laboratorium Kimia Peserta Didik SMK
Teaching materials are components that are needed by students during the learning process as a tool that is used as a source of learning information. Innovation in developing teaching materials is the demand of a teacher in the 21st century in order to face the development of Science and Technology (IPTEK). Development by utilizing technology, information and communication, one of which is the development of printed teaching materials into electronic teaching materials. With the existence of these electronic teaching materials, it is easier for students to learn without the need to spend a lot of money and can help students learn independently because they are presented systematically.
Safety and security materials in chemical laboratories really need additional teaching materials because considering that these materials have a synergy with productive vocational materials for vocational students. Based on the preliminary research, it was found that the students' laboratory literacy level was still relatively low. According to several teachers and students, one of the materials that lacks learning resources is the subject of safety and security in the chemical laboratory which is difficult to understand if you do not have a complete guide. So, to increase the literacy level of the chemistry laboratory of students, it can be done by developing and using the specially developed electronic chemistry laboratory (e-EncyLab) encyclopedia. This study aims to develop an e-EncyLab on the subject of security and safety in a valid chemistry laboratory based on material experts and media experts and get a good response from teachers and students so as to increase the laboratory literacy level of students.
The type of research is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this study were students of class X TKJ and TKR and XI TKJ at SMK YAPIM Siak Hulu, SMKN 1 XIII Koto Kampar and SMKN 1 Bangkinang. The sampling technique is purposive sampling.
The results showed that the e-EncyLab which was developed in one meeting was declared valid by material and media experts with 95.5% and 92.9% respectively. E-EncyLab gets a practical value from teachers with an average value of 87.2%, and gets a practical value from students of 78.5%. From the T-Test calculation, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the laboratory literacy scores before and after using e-EncyLab. From the N-Gain score, an increase in the level of laboratory literacy was obtained by 0.68 in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of e-EncyLab is effective in increasing the laboratory literacy level of SMK students.
