Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Kelor (Moringa Oleifera Lam.) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus (L.) Moench
ABSTRACT
Okra (Abelmoschus esculantus (L.) Moench) is a vegetable plant included in the Malvaceae family, has many health benefits. Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) is an important plant from the Moringaceae family which contains the zeatin hormone, a cytokinin, which can promote plant growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Moringa leaf extract in increasing growth and production of okra plants and to determine the appropriate concentration to increase growth and production of okra plants. This research was conducted at the Biology Garden, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Riau University from February - April 2020 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one treatment with six concentrations, namely 0; 0.625; 1.25; 2.5; 5 and 10 g/ 100 ml. The application of Moringa leaf extract to okra plants had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of branches/plants, number of leaves/plant, plant dry weight, but had no significant effect on plant wet weight, flower emergence time, number of flowers/plants, number of flowers fall, number of fruit/plant and fruit weight. Moringa leaf extract concentration of 2.5 g/ 100 ml can increase vegetative growth (plant height, number of branches, number of leaves and plant dry weight), but has not been able to increase the production of okra plants.
