Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa Kelas VII-B MTS PP Nurul Huda Lubuk Batu Jaya
This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve
the learning process and to increase the student's mathematical problem solving
ability by applying Problem Based Learning model. The subjects of this research
are the students at class VII-B MTS PP Nurul Huda Lubuk Batu Jaya at the
second semester of academic years 2021/2022, which amounted to 28 students.
This research consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages: planning,
implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instrument consisted of
mathematics learning devices and data collection instruments. The mathematics
learning devices used syllabus, lesson plan, and student activity sheet. The data
collection instruments used observation sheets and student's mathematical
problem solving ability test. The data of the observation sheets were analyzed by
descriptive narrative analysis technique and the student's mathematical problem
solving ability test were analyzed by statistic descriptive analysis technique. The
result of observation showed an improvement of learning process from cycle 1 to
cycle 2. The student’s average score in cycle 1 which 68.61 had increased to
86.36 in cycle II. The result of this research showed that Problem Based Learning
improve the learning process and increase the student’s mathematical problem
solving ability of class VII-B MTS PP Nurul Huda Lubuk Batu Jaya at second
semester of academic years 2021/2022.
