Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas L.) Terhadap Hama Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith) Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Corn (Zea mays L.) is a food crop that contains carbohydrates besides rice and wheat. The new pest Spodoptera fugiperda J. E. Smith attack on maize plantations in Indonesia was able to cause yield losses of 15 – 73%. The control of larvae S. frugiperda can be done by using botanical pesticides, namely sea mango leaves (Cerbera manghas L.). The aim of this research was to get an effective concentration of bintaro leaf extract against of S. frugiperda. The research was carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Pests, Agriculture Faculty, Riau University, from May to July 2021. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and four replications in order to obtain 24 experimental units. The treatment given was bintaro leaf extract with a concentration of 0 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water, 60 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water, and 100 gl-1 water. The parameters observed were initial time of death (hours), lethal time 50 (hours), lethal concentration 50 and 95 (%), daily mortality (%), total mortality (%), temperature and humidity. The results showed that the administration of sea mango leaf extract 80 g.l-1 water was an effective concentration against S. frugiperda with an initial time of death of 14.25 hours after application, a lethal time of 50 42.75 hours after application, lethal concentration 50 and 95 respectively 1,53% and 19,79%, daily mortality of 42,5% on the second day, and a total mortality of 85%.
