Perancangan Dan Pembuatan Mesin Sentrifugal Pemisah Virgin Coconut Oil (Vco)
ABSTRACT
Centrifugation is a process that utilizes centrifugal force for the sedimentation of a mixture by means of a centrifugal or dizzying machine. Centrifugal force is the force that occurs due to the presence of rotation, the direction of the force is from the central point of the exit rotation towards the outer radius. The separation between the two liquid phases that make up the emulsion can be done by means of centrifugal force. This force doubles, that is, as a destroyer of the emulsion system and separates the two liquids. In addition to functioning in the separation process, centrifuges also play a role in the drying process of the material. The purpose of making a virgin coconut oil (vco) separator centrifugal machine is to create a tool that is easy, efficient, simple and can make it easier for people to make vco. This centrifugal engine uses an electric motor powered by 2 HP with a rotation speed of 1.400 rpm. This centrifugal engine uses a transmission in the form of a small pulley of 76.2 mm, a large pulley of 101.6 mm, and a V-belt with a drive shaft of 27 mm in diameter. The frame construction uses hollow steel 35x35x1,8 mm, the door frame uses hollow steel 30x30x1,8 mm, the swing out rotor uses st 37 steel. The shaft uses S45C steel, the cover body of the machine uses aluminum zinc plates and the container contains polypropylene with a capacity of 500 ml. This virgin coconut oil separator centrifugal machine can produce 2.000 ml of VCO from 4.000 ml of virgin coconut milk that has been processed by a cold mixer in 30 minutes of production time.
