Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran Berbasis Virtual Laboratory Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa Pada Materi Gelombang Berjalan Dan Gelombang Stasioner Kelas XI SMA/Ma
The lack of interest and desire to learn physics causes students'
cognitive abilities to be at low cognitive outcomes, namely only at the level of
remembering, understanding and applying based on the questions given. Wave
material, especially Traveling Waves and also Stationary Waves, is an abstract
material. The abstract means that the material of traveling waves and stationary
waves is a material that is difficult to illustrate simply and difficult to understand
its meaning based on a model or fantasy.
The virtual laboratory media has been designed in such a way as to be
one of the alternative learning media in practicum activities. Through a virtual
laboratory, experimental activities are simulated with the development of
computer software designed to represent the actual laboratory, so that it can be
an alternative for practicum implementation that cannot be carried out directly or
cannot be carried out due to the limitations of practicum tools. Virtual laboratory
media requires learning tools that are capable and can be used in learning
activities.
The purpose of developing virtual laboratory learning tools is one of the means to
increase students' cognitive knowledge. Especially on the material of Traveling
Waves and Stationary Waves.
This research was conducted at the Physics Education Laboratory,
FKIP, Riau University. The research implementation starts from December 2021
to April 2022. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D)
with a 4D model. This research was conducted to produce a virtual laboratorybased
learning device product and the product has been tested for validity by a
validator who is competent in that field.
The results of the study indicate that the learning tools that have been
developed by the researchers are valid, feasible and effective tools to be used in
the implementation of learning activities. The device has also been tested on
students and it is proven that there is a significant difference between classes that
use learning tools and those that do not. It was found that the class using learning
tools that had been developed had a better level of cognitive understanding.
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that virtual laboratorybased
learning tools are valid, feasible and effective tools to be used in learning
activities.
