A letter as part of the administration of a university. Letters also hold an important role in education. At the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNRI, there are lots of letters needed by students, some of which are cover letters for practical work (KP), research permits in the service and research permits in companies. However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, face-to-face activities must be kept to a minimum. This makes the administration, department heads and lecturers of the Electrical Engineering Department required to work from home or Work from Home (WFH) so it is difficult to ask for the signatures of the department heads and lecturers of the Electrical Engineering Department. The use of electronic signatures makes it easier for students to make the letters they need and makes it easier for the head of the department and lecturers of the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNRI to give signatures.
From the problems mentioned above, a correspondence information system was built using QR Code technology to avoid forgery of electronic signatures. The system development uses the CodeIgniter framework and the PHP programming language. The system development method used is prototyping. Tests carried out on the system are black box testing, usability testing and reliability testing.
The research resulted in a Correspondence and Electronic Signature Information System at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNRI to facilitate the process of making letters, make it easier for department heads and the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNRI to sign using an electronic signature in the form of a QR Code and can maintain the validity of the letter sent. has been issued. Based on the measurement using a Likert scale, the Correspondence Information System and Electronic Signature at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UNRI, the results are 85% very satisfying.
