Keanekaragaman Ular Di Pt Gan Bagian Timur, Hutan Rawa Gambut Semenanjung Kampar, Kabupaten Pelalawan, Riau
PT Global Alam Nusantara (GAN) is one of four peat restoration areas managed by Riau Ecosystem Restoration (RER) in the Kampar Peninsula area. In the RER area, 39 species of snakes have been recorded. Information on the species and diversity of snakes in PT GAN has not been recorded. Therefore, to complete data on snake species found in the RER area, this research was carried out in stages starting from the eastern part with the aim of determining the diversity and conservation status of snakes in the area. The method used is the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) on four observation transects. Data analysis used the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') and Sorensen similarity index (IS). Snake conservation status is determined based on P.106/MenLHK/Setjen/Kum.1/6/2018, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, and Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). The Colubridae family is the most frequently encountered. The number of snakes found were 16 individuals, belonging to 3 families and 11 species. The diversity of snakes was moderate with Boiga cynodon is a new record of snake in the RER found in this study. All snake species found have low conservation status.
Key findings: Boiga cynodon, Colubridae, Conservation, Eastern PT GAN, Peat swamp forest.
