Eksplorasi Dan Uji Antifungi Jamur Endofit Dari Jarak Kepyar (Ricinus Communis L.) Di Lahan Gambut Terhadap Aspergillus Sp. Patogen Pada Jarak
Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is a plant that produces oil which is used as industrial material. The production of castor oil is decrease caused by pathogenic fungal infection. Pathogen control using fungicides is not effective. So another alternative is used, namely biological control using endophytic fungi. Fungal endophytes live inside the plant tissues and known to produce secondary metabolites of killing pathogens. This study aims to explored of the endophytic fungi and assay their antagonistic abilities against pathogenic fungi in castor. Fungal endophytes were isolated from leaves and root of castor plant in the peat soils of the Meranti Islands, Riau. The antagonist activity assay of isolates against pathogens using dual cultured methods. A total of 34 endophytic fungi were isolated. Fifteen isolates with the highest growth rate were chosen for characterized and assay their antagonistic abilities. This fungal consisting of the genus Aspergillus, Trichoderma, Penicillium, Culvularia and the mycelia sterilia group. The pathogen Aspergillus sp. has isolated from infected castor capsule. The isolates BRGD3, BDRD1, BRRA5 and Trichoderma sp. BRGA7 showed higher inhibitory ability of 70.60-87.77%
Key findings: antagonist, castor, endophytic fungi, pathogen
